A Prayer for the Weary Hour
A prayer for anyone who has run out of words and still wants to pray.
God of the long day, we come to you tired. Not dramatically. Just tired. The ordinary kind that builds through small tasks and does not lift with sleep.
We bring you the things we did not finish. We bring you the people we meant to call and did not. We bring you the worry that returns each evening, familiar as a key in a lock.
Teach us to set these down for one hour. Not to solve them. Only to set them down.
Where we have been impatient, make us gentle. Where we have been afraid, steady us. Where we have gone quiet, stay with us in the quiet.
We ask nothing clever tonight. We ask only to be kept, and to wake with enough. For the day that is ending, and the one that is coming, we thank you.
Amen.
