For the end of a long day, when strength is thin and the mind will not settle.

Wednesday's churches: a St. Louis archbishop sues over detainee access, a Natal suspension, and questions over a New York cathedral's books
The most consequential development came from St. Louis. Religion News Service reports that a Catholic archbishop has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over access to immigrant detainees. According to RNS, the suit accuses the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement of instituting policies that violate what it calls "core constitutional values." RNS describes it as the first time a Catholic archbishop has sued the administration on this matter.
Two stories concerned safeguarding and oversight. Anglican Ink reports that the Anglican Diocese of Natal has suspended a priest accused of sexually abusing minors at St Christopher's Parish Church in Sobantu, Pietermaritzburg. The diocese has opened a canonical investigation alongside the criminal process, and the priest's name has not been published. Separately, Anglican Ink reports that Anglican Watch, which it describes as the unofficial watchdog of the Episcopal Church, has raised concerns about the finances and spending priorities of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York, citing financial information.
